According to information from the Hanoi Market Management Department (QLTT), on September 22, Market Management Team No. 25 coordinated with Chuong My Ward Police to inspect a business store belonging to V.C Trading & Service Production Co., Ltd. in Binh Son residential group (Chuong My ward, Hanoi).
At the time of inspection, functional forces discovered 120kg of raw materials that were unused mooncake fillings, without invoices, documents and no information to determine the origin, place of production or origin. The total value of these goods is 3.6 million VND.
In addition to the above ingredients, functional forces discovered 120kg of Trung Thu cake filling bearing the SAVA brand, a traditional mixed filling, which had expired in April 2026 but was still preserved and sold at the store. The expired goods have a total value of 6 million VND.
The Head of Market Management Team No. 25 issued a decision to temporarily seize all of the above goods for handling according to regulations.
Based on the case file, Market Management Team No. 25 proposed to fine V.C Trading & Service Production Co., Ltd. a total fine of 13 million VND, including a fine of 8 million VND for the act of trading goods (food) of unknown origin;
A fine of 5 million VND for the act of trading in expired goods (food). At the same time, it is forced to destroy all violating exhibits.
According to the leader of Market Management Team No. 25, the timely detection and handling of raw materials for making Mid-Autumn cakes of unknown origin and expired dates contributes to preventing unsafe food right from the input source, before being used to produce finished products and put them on the market.
In the coming time, Market Management Team No. 25 will continue to coordinate with functional forces to strengthen inspections of establishments producing and trading raw materials and Mid-Autumn cakes, contributing to protecting the health and rights of consumers in the assigned area.
