Information from the Hanoi Market Management Department (QLTT) said that on June 16, Market Management Team No. 16 completed the dossier and transferred the case with signs of crime related to nearly 18,000 fake Apple brand positioning devices to the police agency for investigation according to their authority.
Previously, Market Management Team No. 16 coordinated with Viet Hung Ward Police to inspect the compliance with legal regulations in goods business activities for BAIYAN Trading Co., Ltd., at the business location on Duc Giang Street, Viet Hung Ward, Hanoi City.
At the time of inspection, functional forces discovered that this establishment was displaying a large number of positioning devices bearing Apple brand marks but could not present invoices and documents proving legal origin.
Exhibits include 15,000 boxes of Tag Apple Find My positioning devices, 2,400 boxes of X8 Tag Apple Find My positioning devices and 200 boxes of Airtmy N Tag Apple Find My positioning devices.
The total value of violating goods according to the listed price on the product is about 880 million VND.

To clarify the violation, Market Management Team No. 16 coordinated with the legally authorized representative of Apple Inc. in Vietnam to appraise the seized goods. The verification results showed that all products bearing signs matching the Apple trademark being protected in Vietnam were not manufactured and circulated on the market by the trademark owner.
Accordingly, all of the above goods were identified as counterfeit Apple brand goods.
Based on the provisions of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations, the Penal Code and related guiding documents, Market Management Team No. 16 determined that the case showed signs of criminal offense, so it completed the file and handed over all exhibits and related documents to Viet Hung Ward Police for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
Hanoi Market Management Department said that the transfer of dossiers to the police agency is to clarify the act of producing and trading in counterfeit trademarks, thereby strictly handling acts of infringing intellectual property rights and protecting consumer rights.
