At the end of the trading week, world gasoline and oil prices simultaneously increased. WTI oil price was at 98.71 USD/barrel, up 2.98 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.11%. Brent oil was at 103.14 USD/barrel, up 2.68 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.67%.
Sharing with Lao Dong, a representative of a gasoline and oil business, although world gasoline and oil prices are still increasing sharply and the domestic price trend may continue to rise in the near future, consumer sentiment is now more stable. Thanks to the management mechanism and regulatory tools of the State, domestic gasoline and oil prices will not fluctuate too much.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world gasoline and oil market on March 11, 2026 is affected by key factors such as: Military conflict between the US, Israel and Iran continues to take place; transportation through the Strait of Hormuz continues to be disrupted after new attacks target ships intending to pass through this strait; a refinery in the UAE had to close after being attacked; the IEA proposes to discharge oil from strategic reserves; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to take place...
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the above factors caused world gasoline and oil prices on March 11, 2026 to increase or decrease compared to March 10, 2026 depending on the item.
At the announcement of gasoline and oil prices on March 13, 2026 from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the face of the sharp increase in world gasoline and oil prices due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the inter-ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance decided to maintain the retail price of gasoline and oil and the level of spending of the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund according to the operating period on March 12, 2026, in order to contribute to stabilizing the market and limiting impact on socio-economics. Accordingly, gasoline and oil prices remain unchanged as follows:
- E5RON92 gasoline: not higher than 22,504 VND/liter, lower than RON95-III gasoline by 3,071 VND/liter;
- RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 25,575 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27,025 VND/liter;
- Kerosene: not higher than 26,932 VND/liter;
- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 18,661 VND/kg.
According to information from the Domestic Market Management and Development Department, statistics of recent unusual operating periods for two popular consumer goods show that the base price of RON95 gasoline has had 3 consecutive increases on March 5, 7 and 10, 2026, with increases of 10.86%, 21.07% and 22.45% respectively. The base price of diesel oil also increased in all 3 periods, corresponding to 19.49%, 31.26% and 18.12%.
