According to a survey at 7:19 p.m. on December 12, world oil prices increased slightly. WTI crude oil prices increased by 0.31 USD/barrel (up 0.54%), to 57.91 USD/barrel. Brent oil price increased by 0.28 USD/barrel (up 0.46%), to 61.56 USD/barrel.
Oil prices picked up slightly on Friday as the market worried about the possibility of supply disruption from Venezuela. However, this increase is not enough to compensate for the downward trend of the whole week, in the context of investors' cautious sentiment and expectations for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine gradually improving.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world petroleum market last week (from December 4, 2025 to December 10, 2025) was affected by main factors such as: the US Federal Reserve (Fed) decided to reduce interest rates; information related to the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine; the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, Ukraine attacks Russian tankers... The above factors have caused world petroleum prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each commodity.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may increase slightly.
In the adjustment session last week (December 11), gasoline prices decreased simultaneously compared to the price adjustment period last week. Of which, E5 RON 92 gasoline is priced at VND19,615/liter (down VND207/liter). RON 95-III gasoline is priced at VND 20,082/liter (down VND 378/liter).
Prices of oil products also decreased simultaneously. Diesel 0.05S is priced at VND18,154/liter (down VND226/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND18,641/liter (down VND252/liter); mazut 180CST 3.5S is priced at VND13,393/kg (down VND43/kg).
