According to a survey at 10:25 PM on January 5, world gasoline and oil prices simultaneously increased slightly. WTI crude oil price increased by 0.53 USD/barrel (up 0.92%), to 57.85 USD/barrel. Brent oil price increased by 0.53 USD/barrel (up 0.87%), to 61.28 USD/barrel.
On Monday, oil prices rose by about 1% as traders assessed the possible impact on oil flows from the US arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the world's largest oil producer.
In the price adjustment session last week, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the world gasoline and oil market in the past week's adjustment (from December 25, 2025 - December 30, 2025) was affected by key factors such as: New instability in the Middle East region; progress of the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine; China increasing crude oil imports; tensions in relations between the United States and Venezuela; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues... The above factors have caused world gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each item.
For the domestic market, a representative of a gasoline and oil business forecast that gasoline and oil prices will fluctuate according to the world situation. According to current market developments, it is forecast that in this week's price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may adjust in opposite directions.
In the adjustment session last week (December 25), gasoline prices simultaneously decreased. In which, E5 RON 92 gasoline priced at 18,716 VND/liter (down 523 VND/liter). RON 95-III gasoline priced at 19,006 VND/liter (down 614 VND/liter).
Diesel and kerosene prices decreased, while mazut oil prices increased. Diesel 0.05S priced at 17,257 VND/liter (down 219 VND/liter); kerosene had a new price of 17,709 VND/liter (down 228 VND/liter); mazut oil 180CST 3.5S priced at 13,382 VND/kg (up 222 VND/kg).
