At a silver shop on Cau Giay Street, Hanoi, Ms. Le Thanh Phuong (Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi) - a customer buying silver for the first time - shared: "I often buy gold to store. I have bought gold twice, once for only 11.8 million VND/tael and most recently for about 13-14 million VND/tael. Today, I wonder if I should buy silver because there was a period of this commodity that decreased sharply and fluctuated continuously".
Ms. Phuong added that if she bought it, she would only buy it in small pieces but not be brave enough to buy it in weight. Currently, to buy silver, I have to wait in line, but the waiting time is not as long as waiting to buy gold.
"However, customers who order silver today need to pay 100% of the value on the bill and have to wait 3 months to receive the goods" - Ms. Phuong said.
On the other hand, many customers such as Ms. Nguyen Thu (Cau Giay Ward, Hanoi) said that in early October, she chose to buy silver and had to wait until next year to receive the goods. Now that the price of silver has increased, she returns to sell.
"In early October, I bought a large quantity, the store made an appointment to buy it in January next year due to limited supply. However, when selling, I just need to hold the purchase invoice and not need to have a product to make a profit. Today, I returned to selling, making a profit of 20 million VND/ft" - Ms. Thu said.
According to Ms. Thu, silver buyers often tend to buy in small quantities, with high profit potential.
