Market analysis
The stability of world coffee prices in the last session of the week, along with the signal of stagnation in the domestic market, showed that the short-term adjustment trend is still dominating. Previously, Robusta and arabica prices have increased continuously in the first week of May due to concerns about a shortage of supply and increased demand.
However, the fact that arabica prices remain unchanged in the context of the DXY index and US interest rates not having any more positive signals makes speculators more cautious. In addition, according to records, the weather in Vietnam and Brazil is more favorable, reducing supply pressure.
Since the beginning of May, domestic coffee prices have decreased by about VND 1,500/kg compared to the peak of VND 129,800130,000/kg recorded on May 3-4. The current upward momentum is stagnant as new expectations for demand and weather are still differentiated.
