Domestic coffee prices
Domestic coffee prices on August 22, 2025 continued to increase slightly. On average, the whole country reached 123,200 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND compared to yesterday.
In the Central Highlands provinces, prices have adjusted in opposite directions: Dak Lak and Gia Lai both recorded 123,200 - 122,900 VND/kg, up 200 VND; Dak Nong (old) reached 123,400 VND/kg, also up 200 VND; while Lam Dong increased slightly by 100 VND, up to 122,700 VND/kg.
If compared to the beginning of 2025, when recorded around 119,000 - 119,800 VND/kg, coffee prices are currently about 3,400 - 4,200 VND/kg higher, equivalent to an increase of about 2.8 - 3.5% after nearly 8 months.
World coffee prices
In the world market, coffee prices have increased strongly. On the London Stock Exchange, Robusta's September 2025 term increased by 112 USD to 4,758 USD/ton; longer terms all increased by over 140 USD/ton, with an increase of 2.4 - 3.5%.
Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, Arabica also increased strongly: the September 2025 term reached 375.25 cents/lb, up 15 cents; other terms increased from 9.65 to 11.55 cents/lb, equivalent to an increase of 2.95 - 4.16%.
Coffee prices on Thursday extended their strong increase for two weeks, with Arabica coffee reaching a 3-month high and Robusta coffee reaching a 2.75-month high. Concerns about the weather in Brazil have boosted coffee futures purchases.
On Monday, Somar Meteorologia reported that Minas Gerais, Brazil's largest Arabica coffee growing region, had no rain in the week ended on August 16. Reports of damage to some Brazilian coffee trees due to last week's price frost are also pushing prices up.
