Domestic pepper prices: Second consecutive week of price increases
As of 12:30 today (8.10), domestic pepper prices are trading in the range of 140,000 - 142,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 - 2,500 VND/kg compared to last week.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak recorded the strongest increase last week up to VND2,500/kg, reaching VND142,000/kg.
Lam Dong province is also currently purchasing at 142,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week.
Other localities such as Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai also increased by VND 1,000/kg, commonly at VND 140,000/kg.

World pepper prices: Developments in the same direction
According to data from the International Pepper Company (IPC), pepper prices in regions around the world generally move in an upward trend.
Vietnam's pepper export price increased by 100 USD/ton, currently ranging from 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton for black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l. Vietnam's export price of white pepper also increased by 100 USD/ton, reaching 8,950 USD/ton.
At the end of the week, the price of Indonesian black pepper closed last week at 7,147 USD/ton, up 84 USD/ton compared to last week. In the same direction, the price of Indonesian white pepper last week increased by 118 USD/ton, reaching 9,991 USD/ton.
In Malaysia, ASTA Malaysia black pepper prices skyrocketed by $350./ton to $9,250/ton. Malaysia's ASTA white rice has increased strongly by 750 USD/ton compared to last week, to 12,500 USD/ton.
In particular, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained stable at 6,000 USD/ton for the whole week.
