Assessments and forecasts
Compared to the same period, domestic pepper prices recorded positive growth, higher than 1,500 - 2,500 VND/kg. This shows a positive trend in domestic pepper price movements.
In the first 5 months of 2026, Vietnam exported 122,583 tons of pepper, with a turnover of 789.2 million USD, an increase of 21.7% in volume and 13.9% in value compared to the same period in 2025. This growth is mainly thanks to the sharp increase in export volume in the first quarter and early second quarter, as import demand in many major markets improved in the context that global pepper supply is still limited.
Although exports in May tended to decrease compared to the previous month, the accumulated results of the first 5 months of the year still show that Vietnam's pepper export activities maintained a fairly positive growth momentum.
Vietnam's pepper export flow to the Middle East region is shifting, in the context of geopolitical tensions continuing to develop complicatedly, and traffic through the Strait of Hormuz almost paralyzed.
