The Government Office has just issued Notice No. 416/TB-VPCP dated August 12, 2025, concluding the Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's inspection of the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport project phase 1 (Long Thanh airport).
According to the announcement, the new goal of the project is to basically complete by December 19, 2025, ensuring standards and conditions for inauguration according to regulations. Therefore, the Prime Minister requested relevant entities, agencies and units to rebuild the progress of the gasoline road (gantt), determining December 19 as the date of completion of all packages and items.
To achieve the goal of completing the project soon, the Prime Minister requested that relevant authorities assigning work must be clear in the person, work, products, responsibilities, progress, and authority. Relevant ministries, branches and units must strengthen inspection, urging and supervision.
All work of the 4 component projects must be completed and put into operation at the inauguration of the project on December 19.
The Prime Minister requested that the transportation system connecting Long Thanh airport must be smooth with high-speed routes and railways.
Therefore, the Ministry of Construction must review and inspect the implementation and implementation of tasks of investors; coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense in ensuring flight techniques and flight methods. The Ministry of National Defense directs competent agencies to coordinate with the Ministry of Construction.
Along with that is the completion of all works and items of the airport such as: telecommunications infrastructure system, electricity, water supply, drainage, fuel supply, parking lot, taxiway, traffic in the airport...; works on environmental landscape, shopping and dining service areas...; other important infrastructure works serving the project's operations.
The completion of projects must be on schedule but must ensure quality, art, environmental landscape and avoid embezzlement, corruption, negativity, and waste. Implement airport operation and exploitation projects to ensure compliance with regulations on standards and implementation procedures; complete the planning of the airport city in accordance with the required schedule.
The Prime Minister requested ACV to arrange the site, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned Saigon Tourism Corporation (Saigontourist) to deploy food and beverage services, meeting the needs of lunch, dinner/rest for officers, employees and workers at the construction site in a sense of responsibility and non-profit to contribute to the completion and inauguration of the project on December 19.
The Prime Minister noted that special attention should be paid to quality, safety, aesthetics, sanitation, drainage, and environmental landscape.
The Ministry of Finance studies and proposes to immediately implement the investment in building a Logistic area and a free trade zone according to ACV's proposal. Report to the Prime Minister in August 2025.
The Ministry of Construction reviews and applies current regulations to immediately deploy traffic routes connecting to the project, in a spirit of urgency, prioritizing items and works to be completed by December 19.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to coordinate with the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to immediately study the underground metro line connecting Tan Son Nhat airport and Long Thanh airport. Report to the Prime Minister for approval in August 2025.
