Domestic pepper prices
As of 11:30 AM today (September 19), domestic pepper prices remained unchanged, averaging 138,300 VND/kg. Currently, the listed price range is in the range of 137,000 - 141,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the recent transaction, Gia Lai and Dong Nai continued to anchor at the threshold of 137,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City put it on the market at a price of 137,500 VND/kg.
Dak Lak area, after a sudden decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, continued to maintain a price of 139,000 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong, pepper prices are currently at the highest level in the whole region at 141,000 VND/kg.
Compared to this time in July, the average domestic pepper price is 100 VND/kg lower, and there has been no breakthrough to 140,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices adjusted down in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,886 - 9,428 USD/ton (equivalent to 180,483 VND/kg - 247,108 VND/kg), down 53 USD/ton and 72 USD/ton respectively.
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian black pepper still sold to the market is 5,750 USD/ton (about 150,708 VND/kg). Black and white Malaysian pepper unexpectedly slipped in price after many months of stagnation, respectively 12,150 USD/ton and 9,250 USD/ton, down from 50 - 100 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l continue to trade at 6,070 - 6,130 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper price offered for sale at 8,450 USD/ton (equivalent to 221,475 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
The domestic pepper market is almost unchanged this week, farmers expect prices to be stable after the accumulation period. Along with that, import and export activities in the first 8 months of 2026 achieved positive growth in volume and value.
According to preliminary data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), Vietnam's pepper trade activity in August 2026 slowed down compared to the previous month. Exports in August reached 21,724 tons with a turnover of 140.9 million USD, down 4.5% in volume and 4.3% in value compared to July 2026. However, compared to the same period in August 2025, export volume still maintained a slight increase of 1.2%.
In the opposite direction, Vietnam imported 2,883 tons of pepper in August 2026 (including 2,636 tons of black pepper and 247 tons of white pepper), reaching a turnover of 18 million USD. Compared to July 2026, down 14.1% in volume and down 10.2% in value.
