Assessments and forecasts
According to experts, the domestic pepper market is suffering a double impact from many factors. First, businesses are cautiously purchasing due to concerns about market risks. Second, transportation and fuel costs are increasing in the context of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East that are putting pressure on the entire supply chain.
However, the bright spot of the pepper industry still comes from export activities. According to data from the Customs Department, in the first 15 days of March 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 12,613 tons, with a turnover of 81 million USD, an increase of 46.7% in volume and 35.4% in value respectively compared to the same period last year. In general, from the beginning of the year to March 15, this item reached 48,192 tons, equivalent to 312.23 million USD, recording a strong increase of 34.6% in output and 28% in turnover compared to the same period in 2025.
