Domestic pepper prices: Maintain the downward momentum
As of 11:30 today (September 21), domestic pepper prices are trading in the range of 147,000 - 150,000 VND/kg, an average decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to last week depending on the region.
At the end of last week, Dak Lak and Lam Dong continued to decrease by VND 1,000/kg last week, down to VND 150,000/kg.
Similarly, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai decreased from 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg, respectively down to 149,000 VND/kg and 147,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc stood at the lowest level at 147,000 VND/kg, both down 1,000 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: intertwined increases and decreases
According to the International Pepper Company (IPC), world pepper prices fluctuated in different directions last week.
Of which, Indonesia's black pepper price decreased by 47 USD/ton compared to last week and is currently trading at 7,027 USD/ton. In the same direction, the price of Indonesian white pepper decreased by 67 USD/ton, down to 9,957 USD/ton.
On the other hand, Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased by 100 USD/ton, to 6,600 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's black pepper export price increased sharply after the week, remaining at a high price range, anchored at 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton for the 500 g/l and 550 g/l type. Vietnam's white sugar is unchanged at 9,250 USD/ton.
In particular, the price of ASTA Malaysia black and white pepper has been flat all week, trading at 9,700 USD/ton and 12,900 USD/ton, respectively.
