Assessments and forecasts
After a period of temporary cooling down in purchasing activities and stagnant exports before and during the Lunar New Year holiday, the domestic pepper market has begun to fluctuate again. The supply circulating in the market has many changes, helping the price level to be pushed up.
The harvest season in Vietnam started in early January in Lam Dong province, other localities are expected to enter peak season after the Tet holiday. However, some areas recorded prolonged rain and came about 1 month earlier than usual, affecting the yield and quality of pepper in the new crop year.
