Assessment and forecast
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), world pepper prices are currently maintaining a high level thanks to tight supply after the harvest season and expecting increased demand from the Middle Eastern and European markets in the second quarter of 2025.
In the domestic market, pepper prices in mid-May fell sharply in key growing areas compared to the same period in April. The decrease ranges from 4,500 - 6,000 VND/kg, causing pepper prices to lose the threshold of 150,000 VND/kg.
