Domestic pepper prices: Increased for the fourth consecutive week
As of 11:30 today (8.24), domestic pepper prices are trading between 143,500 - 146,000 VND/kg, an average increase of 3,000 VND/kg compared to last week depending on the region.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Lam Dong recorded an increase of VND3,000/kg, reaching VND146,000/kg. These are currently the 2 provinces with the highest purchasing prices in the country.
Other localities such as Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City increased by 500 - 1,000 VND/kg, commonly at 143,500 - 144,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai province alone, after many sessions of alternating increases and decreases, closed the weekend trading floor at 144,000 VND/kg, the highest increase of 4,000 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: intertwined increases and decreases
According to the International Pepper Company (IPC), Indonesia's black pepper prices closed last week at 7,129 USD/ton, down 79 USD/ton compared to last week. At the same time of the survey, the price of Indonesian white pepper decreased by 110 USD/ton last week, reaching 9,966 USD/ton.
Similarly, the price of ASTA Malaysia black pepper last week increased by 200 USD/ton, to 9,600 USD/ton. Notably, Malaysia ASTA white pepper prices increased by 100 USD/ton, to 12,800 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased by 150 USD/ton, to 6,000 USD/ton.
In particular, black pepper exported by Vietnam remained unchanged throughout the week at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton for the 500 g/l and 550 g/l types. Vietnam's white sugar remains stable at 8,950 USD/ton.
