Assessment and forecast
According to the latest data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in the first half of April alone, Vietnam exported 10,413 tons of pepper, bringing in a turnover of 72 million USD.
Pepper products are exported in a variety of ways, including: whole black pepper, ground black pepper, whole white pepper, ground white pepper and soaked pepper - each type serving a separate processing needs in the international market. Therefore, demand from major markets is always one of the factors that put pressure on prices.
The pepper processing process is also strictly controlled. From black pepper purchased from farmers, businesses will clean and classify them according to size, then can continue to process them into white pepper, ground pepper or higher-end finished products - all to meet the increasingly strict requirements of the export market.
