Domestic pepper prices: All prices drop
As of 11:30 today (October 3), the domestic pepper market decreased by VND 1,000/kg, an average of VND 145,000/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 144,000 - 146,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai province today continued to decrease by VND 1,000/kg, down to VND 144,000/kg. This is the lowest price in the region.
Meanwhile, the remaining provinces such as Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong all decreased by VND 1,000/kg, to VND 145,000/kg.
In Dak Lak province alone, this region remains unchanged at 146,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Unexpectedly fluctuating strongly
In the world market, pepper prices fluctuated in many regions. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets reversed and increased. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,013 - 9,937 USD/ton (equivalent to 185,389 VND/kg - 262,685 VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian market fell sharply by 4.84%, remaining at 6,200 USD/ton (about 163,897 VND/kg). In the same direction, Malaysia's black and white pepper prices both fell, trading at 12,500 USD/ton and 9,500 USD/ton, down 1.05% and 4%, respectively.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is stable, anchored at 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remain high, currently standing at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,524 VND/kg).
