Domestic pepper prices: Outstanding increase this week
As of 11:30 today (31.8), domestic pepper prices are trading in the range of 151,000 - 152,000 VND/kg, an average increase of 6,000 - 7,500 VND/kg compared to last week depending on the region.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Lam Dong recorded an increase of VND6,000/kg, reaching VND151,000/kg. These are currently the 2 provinces with the highest purchasing prices in the country.
Other localities such as Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City increased by 7,000 - 7,500 VND/kg, commonly at 151,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai province alone, after many sessions of alternating increases and decreases, closed the weekend trading floor at 144,000 VND/kg, the highest increase of 8,000 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: fluctuating in many regions
According to the International Pepper Company (IPC), Indonesia's black pepper prices closed last week at 7,216 USD/ton, down 87 USD/ton compared to last week. At the same time of the survey, the price of Indonesian white pepper increased by 62 USD/ton last week, reaching 10,028 USD/ton.
Similarly, the price of ASTA Malaysia black pepper last week increased by 100 USD/ton, to 9,700 USD/ton. Notably, Malaysia ASTA white pepper prices increased by 100 USD/ton, to 12,900 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased by 400 USD/ton, to 6,400 USD/ton.
In particular, black pepper exported by Vietnam remained unchanged throughout the week at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton for the 500 g/l and 550 g/l types. On the other hand, Vietnam's white pepper had a week of a sudden increase of 200 USD/ton, remaining at 9,150 USD/ton.
