Domestic pepper prices: Unexpected increase
As of 11:30 today (October 6), the domestic pepper market increased in price, averaging 146,200 VND/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 145,000 - 147,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai province today listed 145,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, but this is still the lowest price in the region.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City both increased by VND 1,000/kg, reaching the market price of VND 146,000/kg.
Lam Dong and Dak Lak set the highest threshold in the whole region at 147,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Mixed developments
In the world market, pepper prices have stabilized after a strong fluctuation. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets reversed and increased slightly by 0.01%. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,013 - 9,938 USD/ton (equivalent to 185,165 VND/kg - 262,394 VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian market moved sideways after a sharp decline, remaining at 6,200 USD/ton (about 163,699 VND/kg). In the same direction, black and white pepper were stable, trading at 12,500 USD/ton and 9,500 USD/ton, respectively.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is stable, anchored at 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remain high, currently standing at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,228 VND/kg).

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association, by the end of September 2025, Vietnam had imported 36,112 tons of pepper, with a total import turnover of 225.7 million USD, black pepper reached 30,728 tons, and white pepper reached 5,384 tons. Compared to the same period in 2024, import volume increased by 51.9%, turnover increased by 121.1%.
Regarding export situation, Vietnam has exported 186,997 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 160,113 tons and white pepper reached 26,884 tons. Total export turnover reached 1 billion 264.2 million USD, black pepper reached 1 billion 41.1 million USD, white pepper reached 219.1 million USD.
