Assessments and forecasts
Contrary to the sluggish developments in domestic raw material areas, Vietnam's export pepper prices are witnessing a breakthrough increase. According to assessments from the International Pepper Association, global trading pace has slowed down due to seasonal factors and holidays, but the imbalance in the Vietnamese market shows that supply is gradually narrowing after the peak harvest period.
In terms of the market, the main supply still comes from Cambodia with 6,716 tons, accounting for 65.1% of total imports, followed by Brazil reaching 2,199 tons (21.3%) and Indonesia reaching 1,023 tons (9.9%). In general, in the first quarter of 2026, Vietnam imported 21,201 tons of pepper, an increase of 118.9% compared to the same period in 2025, with a turnover of 121.0 million USD, equivalent to about 32% of the export volume in the same period.
