As of 5:00 p.m., domestic pepper prices today (October 17) recorded a slight decrease of VND 500/kg compared to the morning trading session. Pepper purchasing prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong were at VND 144,500/kg, down VND 500/kg. In the Southeast region, Ba Ria - Vung Tau's pepper purchasing price remained unchanged, currently listed at VND 144,000/kg.
Similarly, Binh Phuoc and Gia Lai provinces remained unchanged at VND144,000/kg.
Thus, pepper prices today turned to decrease in most key areas. In the domestic market, the lowest pepper purchase price is 144,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper prices in the world market are updated from the International Pepper Community. At the end of the trading session, black pepper and white pepper prices in Indonesia are still leading.
Indonesian black pepper and white pepper prices both increased by 0.12%, currently at $6,764/ton and $9,260/ton, respectively. Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged from yesterday's trading session, at $6,400/ton.
For the remaining markets, the prices of black and white pepper ASTA of Malaysia are still stable at 8,700 USD/ton and 11,200 USD/ton respectively.
The price of Vietnamese black pepper is at 6,500 USD/ton, equivalent to 164,775 VND/kg for the 500g/l type. Meanwhile, the 550g/l type is 6,800 USD/ton, equivalent to 172,380 VND/kg. Notably, the price of white pepper recorded a sharp decrease to 9,500 USD/ton, equivalent to 240,825 VND/kg.
