World oil price today
World oil prices today increased sharply. At 11:03 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 71.36 USD/barrel, up 0.65 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.92%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 71.36 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.40 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 75.33 USD/barrel, up 0.11 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.15%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 75.22 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 75.29 USD/barrel.
This development shows that world crude oil prices are on the rise. Analysts said that oil prices were supported after an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacked the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station in the Krasnodar region of southern Russia, disrupting oil supply from Kazakhstan to global markets. This directly affects Western manufacturers such as Chevron and Exxon Mobil.
The growing frequency of these attacks is raising concerns that if they continue, they could pose serious risks to oil supply.
In addition, oil prices continued to increase as the USD index fluctuated near a two-month low, after data showed that US retail sales in January fell the most in nearly two years, down 0.9%. Previously, in December 2024, retail sales increased by 0.7%. core retail sales in January also recorded a decrease of 0.8%.
The increase in oil prices has been partly dried up by concerns about a global trade war, after US President Donald Trump asked US trade and economic officials to consider imposing countervailing tariffs on countries that apply tariffs on US goods.

The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 13, 2025. Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 156 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 146 VND/liter, diesel increased by 19 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 59 VND/liter, mazut increased by 425 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, gasoline prices may adjust in opposite directions in the direction of increasing gasoline prices and decreasing oil prices.
Of which, gasoline price is forecast to increase by about 200-250 VND/liter; oil price decreased slightly by about 50 VND/liter.
