World oil prices today
World oil prices increased simultaneously on December 4 (Vietnam time). At 10:54 am, WTI crude oil was at 69.97 USD/barrel, up 0.03 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.04%. WTI crude oil closed yesterday's trading session at 69.94 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 69.90 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $73.67 a barrel, up $0.05 a barrel, or 0.07 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $73.62 a barrel and opened today at $73.66 a barrel.
Thus, world oil prices today maintained their upward momentum after a strong increase yesterday (December 3). At the end of the trading session on December 3, world oil prices simultaneously increased by more than 2% when Israel threatened to attack Lebanon if the ceasefire with Hezbollah collapsed.
According to Reuters, Israel continues to attack Hezbollah, ignoring the ceasefire agreement that took effect on November 27, raising concerns about tensions in the Middle East.
In addition, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) may extend the production cut agreement until the end of the first quarter of 2025 at the meeting on December 5, also supporting oil prices.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On December 4, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of November 28. Accordingly, all gasoline and oil products increased. The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 497 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline increased by 329 VND/liter; diesel increased by 268 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 221 VND/liter; and fuel oil increased by 111 VND/kg.

PVOIL discount on December 4: Diesel discount (0.005S-V): 1,550 VND/liter; Diesel oil (0.001S-V): 1,550; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,150 VND/liter. Applicable at PVOIL Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan.
Tu Luc Petroleum discount on December 4: Diesel discount (0.005S-V): 1,500 VND/liter; Diesel discount (0.001S-V): 1,500; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on December 4: RON 95 - III gasoline discount: 1,100 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,000 VND/liter; oil: 1,500 VND/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, petroleum prices may decrease. Of which, RON 95 gasoline may decrease by about 350 VND/liter, E5 gasoline by 10 VND/liter, and Diesel by 420 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 22 times and decreased 25 times. Oil prices have increased 21 times and decreased 26 times.
