According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on March 26, 2026, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 482/QD-TTg on applying environmental protection tax, value-added tax, and special consumption tax to gasoline, oil and aviation fuel in cases of necessity for national interests.
Accordingly, from 24:00 on March 26, 2026 to the end of April 15, 2026: the environmental protection tax rate for gasoline (excluding ethanol), diesel oil and aviation fuel is 0 VND/liter; gasoline, diesel oil and aviation fuel are not subject to declaration and payment of value-added tax but are eligible for input value-added tax deduction; the special consumption tax rate for all types of gasoline is 0%.
Accordingly, gasoline and oil prices in the operating session on March 26, 2026 are as follows:
- E5RON92 gasoline: not higher than 23,326 VND/liter (down 4,749 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price), lower than RON95-III gasoline by 1,006 VND/liter;
- RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 24,332 VND/liter (down 5,625 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 35. 440 VND/liter (down 2. 459 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
not higher than 35. 384 VND/liter (down 971 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 21, 748 VND/kg (an increase of 1,503 VND/kg compared to the current maximum selling price).
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the face of the developments of world gasoline and oil prices, VND/USD exchange rate fluctuations, implementing current regulations and directions of the Government, the Standing Committee of the Government, the Prime Minister, the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund has been continuously spent from the operating period on March 10, 2026 to support reducing domestic gasoline and oil price increases; the balance of the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund is estimated at about 320 billion VND.

- About gasoline prices: Singapore: 71,357 VND/liter; Thailand: 28,166 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 35,789 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Laos: 47,682 VND/liter; China: 34,827 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 24,332 VND/liter.
- Regarding oil prices: Singapore: 76,703 VND/liter; Thailand: 26,471 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 46,625 VND/liter; Laos: 50,624 VND/liter; China: 31,733 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 35,384 VND/liter.
Thus, Vietnam's gasoline and oil prices are currently at an average level and lower than countries sharing a common border.
