Yen depreciates sharply
According to Lao Dong, on October 6, the Japanese Yen (JPY) continued to depreciate against the US Dollar (USD) and hit its lowest level since early August, when investors reacted to the news that Ms. Sanae Takaichi - who supports public spending and loose monetary policy - won the election for the leadership of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
With this victory, Ms. Takaichi is expected to become Japan's first female Prime Minister in mid-October. Top 10 securities companies holding nearly 70% market share on HOSE
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) has just announced a list of 10 securities companies with the largest stock brokerage market share in the third quarter of 2025. The top 10 did not change in their list compared to the previous quarter, but their rankings and market share have shifted significantly.
VPS Securities continued to hold the No. 1 position with a market share of 17.05%, up sharply compared to 15.37% in the second quarter of 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, VPS still maintained a high market share, despite a slight decrease (17.63% in the third quarter of 2024).
Notably, SSI Securities recorded strong growth, market share reached 11.82% compared to 10.85% in the previous quarter, while increasing sharply compared to 8.84% in the same period last year. See more...
Hanoi Steering Committee 389 handles 11,641 cases of violations of trade fraud in the first 9 months of 2025
Through professional work, in the first 9 months of 2025, the functional forces in Steering Committee 389 (BCD 389) of Hanoi City inspected 16,596 cases; handled 15,056 violations (of which, 14,914 cases were administratively handled, 142 cases/233 defendants were prosecuted).
The number of violations detected includes: 2,056 cases of banned and smuggled goods; 1,359 cases of counterfeit goods, intellectual property violations; 11,641 cases of trade fraud.
Through handling, 4,385 billion 226 million VND was collected and paid to the state budget.
According to the report of the Hanoi People's Committee 389, in recent times, the leadership and direction of the City People's Committee in combating, preventing and handling acts of producing and trading goods of unknown origin and not ensuring quality has been implemented resolutely, synchronously and achieved many positive results.
