Diverse prices for "rescuing" durian on the online market
Going around the groups, the reporter could not help but be bewildered by the "rescue" prices. The common point of the online durian sales posts is that they sell in large quantities, by the crate.
Ms. Bien, a seller of rescued durian on social media, currently has 2,000 boxes for sale on the market. The price of grade 1 export durian is offered at 370,000 VND per box of 7.5-8 kg, or just over 40,000 VND/kg.
Or with Mr. Duy Khoa, a relative who works in durian import and export had to return because he could not export in time due to the border closure. The price is slightly higher than Ms. Trang's, Mr. Khoa sells the whole box at 550,000 VND per box of 3-5 fruits (equivalent to 8-10 kg), the price includes home delivery.
Ensuring that the durian is ready to be enjoyed at home, sweet and seedless, Ms. Ngo Tham also posted a "rescue call" for only 480,000 VND for a box of 8-9 kg.

"Rescue" durian in real life
According to the reporter's records, along Pham Hung Street after the 9-day Tet holiday, many signs advertising "rescue" durian were posted.
A vendor selling durian on Pham Hung Street said: "Right before Tet, the shipment of durian needs to be delivered to another country, but because of border congestion, customs clearance has not been possible in time."

On the boxes, the origin is also attached as a proof of prestige for customers. When asked about the origin, the trader affirmed: "This shipment is from Tien Giang, Vietnam, still has the code from the Plant Protection Department VN-TGOR-0315 (Hoa Khanh Commune, Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province). Without the exact origin, it cannot be cleared through customs."

Explaining the price difference, the trader said: 'Goods sold online are often more ripe and need to be consumed immediately, while goods sold directly are still green and can be preserved longer.'
With the "super cheap" price, the seller also has to suffer a loss. He sadly shared: "The more we can solve the problem, the better. This money is not enough to pay for the car and shipping fees."
Ms. Ha Anh (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) passed by and saw the sign "rescuing" durian at a surprisingly cheap price, so she bought a box for her family. She shared: "At first, I hesitated to buy because at this price, I usually only bought 1 heavy fruit. But after seeing it with my own eyes, touching it with my own hands, checking the code and exactly in that area with this code, I paid."
