On behalf of the Politburo, Politburo Member, Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu signed and issued Decision No. 177-QD/TW on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Inspection Committee (UBKTTW).
According to the Decision, the UBKTTW Agency is an advisory agency, assisting the UBKTTW in performing tasks and powers on inspection, supervision and discipline of the Party according to the provisions of the Party Charter and performing tasks assigned by the Central Executive Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat; and is also a professional and professional agency on inspection, supervision and discipline of the Party at the Central level.
The Politburo's decision clearly states 18 tasks of the Central Inspection Committee in advising and assisting the Central Inspection Committee in performing tasks.
In which, the Central Inspection Committee Agency has the task of preparing inspection and supervision programs and plans, reports, projects, and cases of inspection, supervision, and discipline of the Party for the Central Inspection Committee to consider and decide according to its authority; inspection, supervision, and control of assets and income for officials under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat; implementing power control, preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity according to the Party's regulations and the State's laws.
Organize the implementation of the functions, tasks, and powers of the UBKTTW as stipulated in the Party Charter, Working Regulations of the UBKTTW of the XIV term and tasks assigned by the Central Executive Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat; organize the implementation of work programs and plans for the term and annually decided by the UBKTTW.
Along with that, preside over and coordinate with the Party Central Committee Office, Party committees at the Central level to advise, develop programs, plans and organize the implementation of tasks of inspecting and supervising lower-level Party organizations and party members to comply with the Political Platform, Party Charter, resolutions, directives, regulations, decisions, regulations, conclusions, and guidelines of the Party.
Advise, direct, guide, inspect, and supervise Party committees, Party organizations, and lower-level inspection committees on Party inspection, supervision and discipline work; re-examine conclusions, notices, and decisions of Party committees, Party organizations, and lower-level inspection committees on Party inspection, supervision, and discipline work.
Proposing opinions contributing to the general leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat on the Party's inspection, supervision and discipline work. Also according to the Decision, the UBKTTW Agency has the right to request the UBKTTW to propose to the Politburo the establishment, dissolution, consolidation, merger, and separation of departments and units under the UBKTTW Agency. Decision to establish departments directly under the units of the UBKTTW Agency according to regulations.

Inspect and supervise the activities of officials, civil servants, and employees of the Central Inspection Committee when necessary.
The UBKTTW agency has the right to connect the databases of state agencies in the fields of banking, securities, asset registration, land, tax, inspection, audit, prosecution, adjudication, judgment enforcement and other databases to serve inspection and supervision work; access and use of databases shall be carried out in accordance with the Party's regulations and the State's laws. At the same time, approve the annual work plan of departments and units under the UBKTTW agency.
