On June 22, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the meeting of the Central Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide (5th time), the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key projects in the transport sector; Promoting the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025 for the second time.
According to reports at the meeting, regarding direction and management, in recent times, the Government and the Prime Minister have paid great attention to and directed strongly and closely to promote the disbursement of public investment capital, implementing 3 National Target Programs of the year right from the first days of 2025.
Regarding the results, the disbursement of public investment capital in the first 6 months of 2025 was VND 264.8 trillion, reaching 32.06% of the plan, higher than the same period in both relatives (in terms of ratio) and absolute terms (the same period in 2024 disbursed about VND 188.4 trillion, reaching 28.2% of the plan).
However, by June 20, 2025, about VND7.36 trillion has not been allocated in detail to 17 ministries, agencies and 21 localities; there are 35 ministries, agencies and 26 localities disbursing below the national average.
The goal of all ministries, branches and localities disbursing 100% of public investment capital in 2025 is a huge challenge in the context that we are carrying out a revolution in streamlining the apparatus, arranging administrative units and implementing local government at 2 levels.
Regarding the progress of implementing national projects and works, key projects in the transport sector, up to now, 19 component projects/projects have been put into operation, raising the total number of expressways nationwide from 1,327 km to 2,268 km; put into operation the T3 terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport; 52 projects/projects are being implemented, basically following the set schedule.
