According to the Organizing Committee, the 1st Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, will take place for 3 days, from September 26 to September 28, 2025 at the Can Tho City Military Command Hall.
The first working day (the General Meeting held a Bousiness Session) is at 2:00 p.m., September; the second working day (official General Meeting), opens at 7:30 a.m. on September9; The third working day (the General Meeting closed at 7:30 a.m., September 28).
The Congress was attended by 485 official delegates (of which, there were 96 female delegates, accounting for 19.79%; 19 delegates were ethnic minorities, accounting for 3. 90%), representing over 141,000 party members of 109 Party Committees under the Can Tho City Party Committee. The delegates are of course 79 members of the current City Party Committee, the delegates are appointed as 406 delegates. The delegates invited about 70 delegates.
On the theme of the Congress: "Promoting the tradition of solidarity; building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects; mobilizing all resources, breakthroughs, creativity, international integration, developing Can Tho city quickly, sustainably and modernly".
The Congress motto is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", demonstrating the principles, core values and methods of action in the Congress and throughout the City Party Committee in the 2025 - 2030 term.
The draft Political Report has 28 targets, including: Economic targets (8 targets); social targets (7 targets); environmental targets (4 targets); targets for infrastructure development (3 targets); targets for Party building and the political system (3 targets); targets for national defense, security, foreign affairs (3 targets), and at the same time identified 5 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs and 10 groups of solutions in the 2025 - 2030 term.
Regarding personnel work, based on Directive No. 45-CT/TW, dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo and regulations and instructions of the Central Committee, the Congress will not elect the City Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Inspection Committee of the City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and the Delegation attending the 14th National Congress of the Party, but will be appointed by the Politburo and the Secretariat.
At the Congress, personnel decisions will be announced. Human resources are prepared closely, democratically, fairly, objectively, and in accordance with procedures, ensuring inheritance, continuous innovation and development, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.
The new point of the congress organization is to promote the application of information technology in many important stages: Management and issuance of electronic documents, registration and nomination of delegates, operation of some working sessions via electronic system, ... especially deploying on the Can Tho Smart App the section "The First Can Tho City Party Congress" to serve information work, expand the scope of information dissemination about the Congress; provide documents, receive comments from cadres, party members and people, and at the same time support reporters to access official documents.
