On the morning of September 22, the People's Committee of Can Tho City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the National Highway 91 Upgrade and Expansion Project (Km0-Km7) with a total length of about 7km.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City Tran Van Lau emphasized that this is an event of profound political and social significance, the works and projects that were started and inaugurated today have an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the city, practically welcoming the 1st Can Tho City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City said that in today's event series, 8 projects were started and 10 projects were inaugurated, with a total investment of about VND 12,252 billion.
The projects that were started and inaugurated today are not only the specific results of the process of striving, but also a symbol of faith and aspiration. That is the belief in the leadership of the Party, the strong management of the government and the great solidarity of the people", the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City stated.
According to the Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, the National Highway 91 Upgrade and Expansion Project (Km0-Km7) has a total route length of about 7.04km. The starting point is at the intersection of Cach Mang Thang Tam - Hung Vuong - Tran Phu - Nguyen Trai road, the end point is at Km7 column, National Highway 91, connecting with the section Km7+00 - Km14+000 in use.
The project has a 37m wide road cross-section, including a 23m 6 lane traffic section, a 4m median strip, and a 5m sidewalk on each side.
On the route, there is a bridge project, Binh Thuy Bridge, with a main bridge length of 145m, the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are 456m long, and are permanently built with reinforced concrete. Other infrastructure items include: rainwater drainage system, technical cages, trees, lighting, traffic safety.
This is a road traffic project (urban road), level I project ( design speed 60km/h), with a total investment of VND 7,238 billion, using the central budget and local budget, project implementation period is 2023 - 2027.
Also on the morning of September 22, Can Tho City started construction and inaugurated 18 projects (8 projects started construction, 10 projects inaugurated). Of which, 2 main bridges have live television; 10 online side bridges; 5 bridges perform inauguration ceremonies, record propaganda images; 1 inauguration project according to the investor's own plan.
