On September 1, according to the Ministry of National Defense's Electronic Information Portal, on the occasion of accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and work in China, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense - had a working session with representatives of Huawei Lieu Kha Group.
Informing at the meeting about the cooperation with Vietnamese corporations and enterprises in recent times, including the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel), Mr. Lieu Kha also shared about the development situation of Huawei Group and expressed his desire to continue promoting close cooperation with Vietnam.
Regarding the cooperation results between Huawei Group and Viettel Group, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien said that there is still a lot of room for cooperation between the two sides. The Senior Lieutenant General suggested:
(1) Huawei Group continues to closely coordinate with Viettel Group to effectively implement the Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed in June 2025, promoting cooperation in research, development and transfer of 5G/6G technology; (2) Promoting the supply of 5G devices in the Vietnamese market; (3) Ensuring the progress of equipment supply, supporting Vietnam to expand and develop foreign markets; (4) Research and expand cooperation to other potential areas of cooperation such as high-tech industry, digital transformation, design and manufacturing of systems such as solar power, electric vehicles, remote control vehicles and data centers; (5) Early deployment of Viettel Working Group activities to visit and work at Huawei headquarters in September 2025.
The two sides believe that, with goodwill, capacity and openness, cooperation between Viettel Group and Huawei Group will continue to be strongly promoted in the coming time.
