General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security has just issued Report No. 1109/BC-BCA-V01 to the National Assembly on the results of implementing Resolution 109/2023/QH15 on thematic supervision and questioning of security, order and social safety. The reporting period is from September 15, 2024 to April 14, 2025.
According to the report, the contents on the field of security, order and social safety were focused on by the Ministry of Public Security to disseminate and direct the implementation to improve the effectiveness of ensuring security, order and social safety, contributing significantly to serving the task of socio-economic development.
The Ministry of Public Security has strengthened social prevention and propaganda on methods and tricks of criminal activities to raise people's vigilance, not allowing subjects to take advantage of committing crimes.
In the past, criminal offenses such as fraud, property appropriation, gambling, multi-level business, illegal transactions of virtual currency, foreign exchange gold, online securities and violations related to personal data in cyberspace have been busted.
At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security also organized a review and coordination to prevent more than 17,000 websites and social network accounts related to illegal acts.
Regarding economic crimes, corruption, smuggling, and the environment, the Ministry of Public Security continues to proactively identify early, accurately, and accurately corruption and negativity in sensitive areas that have caused long-term concern; strengthen the fight against wasteful behaviors.
The cases under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity are being monitored and directed to speed up the investigation progress.
The Ministry of Public Security has detected 512 corruption cases with 1,057 subjects; 2,847 violations of economic management, handled 45 smuggling cases, 1,411 cases of banned goods...
Regarding drug crimes, the Ministry of Public Security has fought and dismantled drug trafficking and transportation rings in large quantities, complex drug dens on key routes and areas, and border areas.
Specifically, the Ministry of Public Security has detected 14,386 cases, 27,418 subjects committing drug crimes, seizing more than 258 kg of heroin, 2,801 kg and 1,744,497 synthetic drug pills, 1,443 kg of marijuana.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security also strengthens the prevention of social order crimes, especially black credit crimes, human trafficking, child abuse and abuse.
Also in the past time, more than 24,000 cases of social order crimes were discovered, 28 criminal gangs were destroyed, 896 cases/978 defendants were prosecuted for illegal credit; 542 cases/628 subjects were handled, 564 children were abused; 1,938 wanted subjects were arrested, and 1,938 wanted subjects were arrested.
The Minister of Public Security said that he had dismantled many human trafficking rings and groups and promptly prosecuted and brought the subjects to strict trial. Of which, 22 cases/44 subjects/fraudulent sale of 50 victims were detected and investigated.
In the coming time, General Luong Tam Quang said that he will proactively identify, detect, and combat economic crimes, corruption, waste, and negativity and speed up the investigation of key cases; high-tech crimes, and drug crimes.
