Developing detailed progress
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung and the working delegation conducted a survey and inspection of key projects serving APEC 2027 that will take place in Phu Quoc Special Zone. The inspection team inspected the implementation of propaganda work, site clearance, project implementation, urban order assurance, aesthetics, etc.
Of the current 21 projects, there are investors for 3 projects; many important infrastructure projects have not been selected investors for implementation.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung suggested that the departments and branches of the special zone and units assigned specific tasks in the previous plan should urgently develop a detailed schedule for progress. Assigning according to the 6 clear motto: Clear people, clear work, clear time, clear products, clear responsibilities, clear authority. Assign the Department of Finance as the advisory agency for the Steering Committee, assign the Department of Science and Technology to research to develop management software to review the entire project.
Regarding implementation, the Steering Committee and the Working Group requested the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate to perfect. In particular, it is noted that departments and branches must have a deputy director focusing on participating throughout this project.
Regarding planning work, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Finance, the Department of Construction, the Special Zone and investors to complete all plans by July 25 at the latest.
Site clearance, ensuring good resettlement for people
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that regarding site clearance, this is an issue identified as a difficulty that Kien Giang province (before the merger) had previously directed. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that it is necessary to make an immediate assessment, especially the issue of land in Phu Quoc, land managed by the State must be reclaimed.
"The special zone is the host agency, the Department of Agriculture and Environment proactively coordinates with the special zone, all departments and branches must participate. I suggest that comrades review, focus on finishing and having temporary housing policies, ensuring how to implement good quality resettlement areas.
Regarding site clearance and complaint settlement, the police, inspectors and the judiciary must send people to participate from the beginning, how to ensure the rights of the people and resolutely handle them in accordance with the provisions of law, emphasized the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Request investors to closely follow the progress of construction contractors and have regular reports.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed: "Focus on forces, coordinate effectively, on schedule, in the spirit of trying to ensure transparency and strict handling of violations, especially corruption and negative waste when implementing the project".
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, out of 21 projects serving the APEC 2027 conference, 13 projects must carry out land acquisition work. The construction of works to serve the APEC conference is a national political and foreign economic task that creates momentum to promote the development of the local socio-economy, tourism and infrastructure. Therefore, all project projects must ensure progress, completed before June 2027.
