On September 22, An Giang Provincial People's Council held the 6th session (specialized session) to approve many important draft resolutions.
Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Hong Tham said that this session also performs a very important task regarding personnel work. The Provincial People's Council is conducting the election of the Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council of the XI term, term 2026 - 2031 according to the policy of competent authorities. The consolidation of the title of head of the Provincial People's Council not only ensures continuity and unity in the leadership and administration of the activities of the People's Council and the Standing Committee of the People's Council, but also meets the requirements of leadership and comprehensive implementation of the tasks of the Provincial People's Council throughout the term.
At the meeting, the title of Chairman of the People's Council was introduced and elected. Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province, term XI, 2026-2031 with 100% of the votes of agreement of delegates attending the meeting.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong said that with the responsibility assigned, she will try her best to be worthy of the trust of the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee; the trust of the Provincial People's Council delegates and the trust and expectations of voters and people in the province.
Inheriting and promoting the tradition of the Provincial People's Council through periods - I will continue to build a working environment with the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the Boards of the People's Council and the delegates of the Provincial People's Council - with the spirit of maximizing collective wisdom; respecting differences in discussion and debate - in the spirit of constructiveness and high unity in action; so that each policy is considered from many perspectives, with scientific basis and high feasibility. Continue to strongly innovate the activities of the People's Council towards democracy, solidarity, discipline, publicity, and transparency; so that the activities of the Provincial People's Council are more substantive and professional; closer to the people and more effective," Ms. Huong emphasized.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong was born in 1971, native of Dong Thap province, professional qualifications Bachelor of Journalism, Advanced level of political theory.
From August 2026 to now, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong has held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, provincial organizations, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province.
