The press plays the role of "main actor", "main force" in information and propaganda
On the morning of February 24th, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission (General Service Commission), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nhan Dan Newspaper, and the Vietnam Journalists Association jointly organized the Press Conference of Binh Ngo Spring 2026.
Speaking at the conclusion of the Conference, Deputy Head of the TGDVTW Phan Xuan Thuy emphasized that in the results of information and propaganda work in general, the press has shown the role of "main actor", "main force", "pioneer", "outstanding", contributing to "orienting", "leading", "spreading", "inspiring", effectively serving the raising of awareness, creating social consensus, and strengthening the trust of cadres, party members and people.
According to Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy, the new era of national development has officially begun with strategic goals and a system of solutions, action programs and the strong and drastic transformation of the entire political system in organizing and implementing.
More than ever, the task of information and propaganda in the press needs a new shift: proactive, creative, persuasive, revolutionary, professional, humane, modern, ensuring leadership, orientation, and mastery of the information battlefield in the media space. The press must make a significant contribution to the cause of bringing the country to complete 2 100-year strategic goals.

To complete that mission, right from the beginning of 2026, Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy requested the press to implement key requirements and tasks.
In which, the Vietnamese revolutionary press, with the role of "pioneer", "main force" in information and propaganda work, needs to identify propaganda on the implementation of the 14th Party Congress Resolution as a key, consistent task and implement it right in the early days when the Resolution was promulgated.
Propagating to officials, party members and people to deeply and comprehensively understand the content of documents; arousing and creating solidarity, unity, belief and determination to bring the Resolution into life so that the Resolution is not only the Party's policy, but becomes a "command from the heart", a "red thread" deeply ingrained in each official and party member; a guiding principle in the awareness and actions of each citizen.
Occupying and mastering the information and communication front in cyberspace
The next task mentioned by Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy is to focus highly on propagating the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; opening specialized pages and columns, increasing capacity and duration, improving quality, and comprehensively innovating information content and forms.
Focus on propagating the direction and administration of the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, and localities in their determination to achieve the growth target of over 10% per year or more in the 2026-2030 period; creating consensus, unity, and high determination in society to implement the two strategic goals of 100 years of Party establishment and 100 years of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).

Deputy Head of the Central General Service Department Phan Xuan Thuy also emphasized that the press must be the force to open the way - guide - keep the way for positive information flow; information must be faster, more diverse, more creative, and more effective; must dominate and master the information and communication front in cyberspace.
Strengthen and proactively fight against false and hostile information on all digital platforms and publications of each press agency.
Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy also requested press agencies to build for themselves attractive digital communication products with high spillover effects; design digital data packages not only to serve information and propaganda work but also to be products that generate revenue.
The press needs to be a pioneer in digitizing media products; strengthen the team of reporters and editors who understand technology, have the capacity to do modern journalism, have the aspiration to research innovation, creativity, and design new digital media products, not only accurate, accurate, and timely but also attractive to readers.
