Pre-match information
Participating in this year's tournament as the defending champion, the Vietnamese women's futsal team aims to defend the regional championship. The titles achieved in the past time, including the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship and the SEA Games 33 gold medal, are considered an important foundation for coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team to aim to maintain their leading position.
Before the tournament, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had a training and friendly match process to improve tactics and improve professional quality. The coaching staff paid special attention to the ability to control the pace of the match, organize a high-intensity playing style as well as the plan to rotate the squad in the context of a tight schedule.
In the group stage, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will play 3 consecutive matches in 3 days, thereby posing a big requirement for fitness and the ability to maintain stability in playing style.
On the opposite side, the Australian women's futsal team is a newcomer to the region and is still in the stage of completing its force. This team was newly established in recent years and does not have much international competition experience.
At the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship finals, Australia did not win any matches after 3 matches against China, Uzbekistan and Taiwan (China), which partly shows the difference in level compared to the top continental teams.
The Australian squad participating in this year's tournament is a combination of some experienced players and 8 faces who play internationally for the first time.
Compared to their opponents, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is rated slightly higher in terms of individual technique, tactical organization ability as well as experience in regional tournaments. If they play at their best, Thuy Trang and her teammates are expected to have a favorable start at this year's tournament.
