Digital space has become an essential component of daily real life
Over a century, Vietnamese revolutionary journalism under the leadership of the Party has fulfilled its mission and pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front, accompanying the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2026), General Secretary and President To Lam wrote an article "Vietnamese Revolutionary Press in the Digital Age". The article raised many messages as well as many new points in terms of both theoretical thinking, strategic orientation and practical requirements for the country's press.

In the article, General Secretary and President To Lam stated clearly: "After more than a century of accompanying the nation, Vietnamese revolutionary journalism is entering a very new and very different development period in most aspects. Digital space has become an essential component of daily life. Digital technology, big data, artificial intelligence, social networks and cross-border communication platforms have fundamentally changed the way information is created, distributed, received and verified.
According to Dr. Le Trung Kien (Ho Chi Minh Institute and Party Leaders, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics), General Secretary - President To Lam's article has covered strategic issues for Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, from its history, glorious and honorable process, to important orientations in the vision of the future associated with the digital age context.
This brings full and correct awareness to the press management agency and the responsibility of each journalist, always associated with political responsibility and ethical responsibility, accompanying legal responsibility is the effort of digital transformation, improving professional and operational capacity, promoting achievements and constantly contributing to an increasingly modern and humane revolutionary press.
Dr. Le Trung Kien said that in the context of digital transformation becoming the law of progress of humanity that we often call the term "digital age", the flow of press and media is no exception; even this field continues to break through more strongly, applying even better to "have a process to create products on a platform of diverse types of journalism in the fastest time, accurate information, full content and truly convenient".
Maintain political stance and bravery
According to Dr. Le Trung Kien, in the context of information explosion, each journalist needs to constantly update digital technology to apply information transmission to social life, to increasingly meet higher and more satisfactory public needs.
However, journalism is a special profession, so each journalist must both be steadfast in their ideological foundation, serving their own mission, and constantly cultivate their qualities and bravery to serve the Fatherland and serve the People.

Faced with the new requirements of the times, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Son - Director of the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda - said that the directions of General Secretary and President To Lam on press must closely follow reality, respect the truth and take the interests of the people as the starting point are of particular importance to current press activities.
According to him, first of all, it is necessary to continue to consolidate the ideological foundation and political bravery for the team of journalists. Journalists must be very firm in their position and political ideology.
Along with that, journalists need to firmly grasp the guidelines, policies, and policies of the Party to transform them into journalistic works that are close and easily accessible to the public, especially the younger generation.
In the context of rapid and strong science and technology development, according to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Son, journalists need to effectively utilize digital platforms, social networks and artificial intelligence to improve content quality, increase spread and public access. However, no matter how developed technology is, the decisive factor is still social responsibility and professional ethics of journalists.
Journalists must be responsible to the people, the Party and the Fatherland for each of their articles," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Minh Son shared.
