For a humane cyberspace for everyone
On the morning of August 6th, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Head of the National Cyber Security Steering Committee, attended and spoke at the rally to respond to Vietnam Cyber Security Day. The event was organized by the National Cyber Security Steering Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security with the overarching theme: "For a humane cyberspace for everyone".
Also attending were General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, Standing Deputy Head of the National Cyber Security Steering Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung stated clearly that from 2024, the Prime Minister has decided to take August 6 every year as Vietnam Cyber Security Day. This is an important decision, showing the concern of the Party and State for a key area of the country; at the same time, it is an opportunity for us to call on the entire political system, the business community and each citizen to join hands in building a safe, healthy, reliable and humane cyberspace; spreading a safe digital culture, raising awareness, responsibility and skills of the whole society in protecting national sovereignty, the legitimate rights and interests of people and businesses in cyberspace.
To meet the requirements of national development in the digital age, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested the entire political system and the social community to focus on effectively implementing 5 key tasks:
First, ensuring network security must closely and synchronously link "system protection" and "human protection", with the goal of taking the safety, peace and happiness of the people as the highest measure for all policies. This is also the guiding ideology throughout this year's Network Security Day message: "For a humane network space for everyone".

Second, ministries, branches, and localities must clearly show their constructive role; the National Cyber Security Steering Committee promotes its coordinating role; focus on completing the legal corridor, removing bottlenecks in cyber security, data security and personal data protection; building strong enough sanctions to strictly handle law violations in cyberspace, ensuring a safe, healthy and reliable digital environment. Each issued policy must take the safety and convenience of people and businesses as the center.
Maintaining the role of "steel shield" to firmly protect national digital sovereignty
Third, specialized forces protecting network security must maintain the role of "steel shield" firmly protecting national digital sovereignty. Strongly shift operating methods from passive response to proactive early and remote prevention. Improve capacity, proactively grasp and forecast the situation, coordinate coordination, prevention, and fight to dismantle high-tech cybercrime lines, especially transnational crimes, maintaining a safe, civilized, and humane digital environment for the people.
Fourth, the technology, telecommunications and financial business community must identify the mission of accompanying and shouldering social responsibility. Businesses and banks must proactively shift to a security architecture with people at the center; integrate automatic fraud protection and warning features completely free of charge for users. Proactively research and master science and technology to bring absolute simplicity and safety to the people.
Fifth, each citizen needs to equip themselves with digital skills, raise awareness, self-protection ability and civilized behavior in cyberspace to become an "active digital shield" participating in protecting network security. When one hundred million people join hands, we will form the most solid "digital wall" to protect ourselves, protect our families and protect the Fatherland.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung hopes that Vietnam Cyber Security Day will not only be a commemorative milestone, but must become a message, a strong action commitment of the entire political system and the entire people on the determination to build a safe, reliable and humane cyberspace.
Also at the program, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung launched a series of activities for Vietnam Cyber Security Day 2026 with the action goal: For a humane cyberspace for everyone - For national security - For a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam!
