On July 2nd, in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung attended and delivered a directing speech at the conference to summarize the police work in the first 6 months of 2026, 1 year of organizing 2 levels of local police with new administrative boundaries.
General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security, Minister of Public Security chaired the Conference.
At the Conference, the Prime Minister and delegates watched a film report summarizing the situation and results of police work in the first 6 months of the year, key tasks for the last 6 months of 2026; listened to leaders of units of the Ministry speak and discuss issues related to political security, order, and social safety.
Speaking to direct at the Conference, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung assessed that the People's Police Force (CAND) not only excellently completed its targets and tasks but also more clearly demonstrated its role in creating a safe and secure environment for development; a solid shield in protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.
The Politburo highly appreciates the Ministry of Public Security's advice on building the National Security Strategy and the Central Resolution on building a disciplined, safe, civilized, harmonious, and developed society.
Regarding the directions and tasks set out in the last 6 months of 2026, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested the People's Public Security Forces to continue to set an example, take the lead in concretizing and implementing the Party's guidelines and strategies, the State's policies and laws, and be pioneers in creating development with specific and measurable results and products.
Actively participate in reviewing and proposing to overcome inadequacies in mechanisms, policies, and laws; focus on removing bottlenecks and unlocking resources for the implementation of the "double-digit" growth target.
Focus on building the "economic security shield" and the "national firewall in cyberspace", two important pillars in the national security architecture in the new period.
Realizing the role of forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level; consolidating and expanding communes and wards, free of drugs; drastically reducing social order crimes by another 10%.
Accelerate the progress of investigation, prosecution, and bringing to trial corruption, wastefulness, and negativity cases, focusing on maximizing the recovery of lost assets.
Accelerate the development of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, security industry, identifying this as a strategic tool to improve national security protection capacity.
The Ministry of Public Security - the Standing Agency of the Government Steering Committee continues to promote its core role in advising, urging, inspecting, and guiding ministries, branches, and localities to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
The Prime Minister emphasized that in the coming period, the People's Public Security Forces will not only be the "Sacred Sword" of the Party and State, a "steel shield" to protect national security, a solid support for the People, but also contribute to protecting the country's long-term development future, creating a safe environment for the country to break through and move forward.
