In the library on the 8th floor at the headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper (Hanoi), precious printed newspapers from decades ago are still preserved.
In the Lao Dong Sunday issue dated June 30, 1991, Lao Dong Newspaper devoted most of the issue to strongly propagating the victorious conclusion of the 7th Party Congress.
The articles attracted much attention with headlines such as "What do workers and trade union organizations do to make the Party Congress Resolution a reality"; or like the article titled "Congress VII: Full of responsibility at a turning point".
By the VIII Congress, the front page of Lao Dong Newspaper issue dated July 4, 1996, devoted half a page to information about the success of this Congress.
On page 2 of the issue, there is an article "Celebrating the successful VIII Congress". The content of the article clearly states that during the Congress, all classes of people are always attentively following and unanimously responding to the content of important documents passed by the Congress.
The article quotes the words of worker Dinh Phuc Luong (worker of Tran Hung Dao Mechanical Factory, Hanoi) expressing that he and many other workers of the Factory always agree and respond to the target program set by the Party in documents for the mechanical industry.
We place our trust in the leadership and management of the Party and the State" - worker Dinh Phuc Luong shared.
Not only domestic news, Lao Dong Newspaper also highlighted the opinions of delegates and international leaders. In issue 79/96 published on Tuesday, July 2, 1996, it reflected many opinions of international delegates attending the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Typically, Comrade Li Peng - Head of the Delegation of the Communist Party of China - said that the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is an important Congress that inherits and continues to aim for the future in the history of building socialism in Vietnam.
We deeply believe that, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, all Party members and people of Vietnam, according to the motto set out by the VIII Congress, will continue to promote the cause of comprehensive renovation, and will definitely bring the socialist country of Vietnam to stability and prosperity into the 21st century, implementing its development goals" - Comrade Ly Bang said.
The article also quoted Comrade Bindiucov N.G - Head of the Delegation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. This person said: "We consider the participation of Vietnamese Communists in the Congress as a continuation of the development of good relations between the two brotherly parties...".
Lao Dong Newspaper also quoted Comrade H.R.B Cabrera - Head of the Delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba that the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam this time will discuss and propose important directions and tasks to make Vietnam a country with an industrialized and modernized economy.
For us, being able to represent the Communist Party of Cuba at this Congress is a great honor" - Head of the Delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba said in an article published on July 2, 1996 by Lao Dong Newspaper.
