On the side of Lao Dong Newspaper, there was Nguyen Duc Thanh, Member of the Executive Committee of the VGCL Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper.

Speaking at the beginning of the Conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi said that the conference was organized in the context of revolutionary journalism facing unprecedented challenges of the digital age and the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI), posing an urgent requirement for comprehensive innovation in both theoretical thinking, professional qualifications and technological capacity for journalists.
2026 marks a shift from the "information age" to the "age of manipulated truth". Hostile forces are increasingly taking advantage of AI algorithms, deepfaked technology and big data to spread distorted information, blurring the line between reality and falsehood, posing a major challenge to the protection of the Party's ideological foundation. Faced with that reality, protecting the Party's ideological foundation requires a shift from defense to proactive attack with truth, justice and modern technology.

Also according to experts, in the digital age, cyberspace has become one of the important ideological fronts of social life. Cyberspace is not only a communication and information exchange environment, but also a place to form, spread and strongly shape social opinion flows.
However, along with great opportunities for the media, cyberspace is also becoming an environment that hostile, reactionary and political opportunistic forces are taking advantage of to spread fake news, distort the Party's guidelines, cause information chaos and negatively impact social awareness.
Therefore, protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against wrong and hostile views in cyberspace has become a particularly important task of ideological work in the new situation.
After 40 years of renovation, Vietnamese revolutionary journalism has grown stronger and developed continuously with the country, steadily moving forward, and achieving many great achievements.
Vietnamese revolutionary journalism has always been a powerful tool in protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the struggle to refute wrong and hostile views in cyberspace.
In the context of rapid changes in science and technology, opportunities and challenges intertwined, the content of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in cyberspace is increasingly posing many problems for press agencies.
