Regarding the election of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, Can Tho City Party Secretary requested all levels and sectors to continue to implement the steps according to the plan, ensuring strictness, regulations, and progress.

During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the market situation for goods in the city is basically stable. The market stabilization program is effectively implemented with the participation of 16 businesses, the total value of goods in reserve is more than 4,000 billion VND, contributing to ensuring abundant and diverse supply, without scarcity, speculation, hoarding or sudden price increases.
The distribution system includes 258 markets, 8 shopping centers, 20 supermarkets, 416 convenience stores and a smooth gasoline and oil business network, meeting the shopping needs of people well.
With the motto "everyone, every household is happy with Spring and welcomes Tet", the city has given more than 476,000 gifts to policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households, workers and other disadvantaged groups, with a total budget of about 246.3 billion VND from the budget and socialized sources.
In addition, the "Trade Union Tet Market" program awarded 20,000 gifts worth 19 billion VND; mobilized the construction of 76 houses for poor and near-poor households; organized "Tet of Compassion" and many other practical care activities. Cultural and tourism activities took place vibrantly. During the 9-day Tet holiday, the city welcomed nearly 615,000 visitors, including more than 32,000 international visitors; total revenue from tourism is estimated at 640 billion VND.
The political security situation and social order and safety were maintained, without any sudden or unexpected situations. The whole city discovered 13 cases of social order crimes, a decrease compared to the same period; the rate of investigation and clarification reached 84.6%. The Traffic Police force strengthened patrols and handled more than 6,100 violations, of which alcohol concentration violations accounted for about 25%. Traffic accidents decreased sharply in the number of cases and the number of injured people compared to the same period last year.
