Mr. Tran Hong Minh - Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee was approved to be appointed as Minister of Transport.

On November 28, at the 8th Session, with the overwhelming majority of delegates voting in favor, the 15th National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Tran Hong Minh - Secretary of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee to the position of Minister of Transport.

Mr. Tran Hong Minh holds the position of Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang.

Mr. Tran Hong Minh was born on November 4, 1967; hometown is An My commune, My Duc district, Hanoi city. He has a high level of political theory; professional qualification is Doctor of Engineering.

Mr. Tran Hong Minh has many years of experience and has grown up in the military environment, through many leadership and command positions. From 2014 to 2021, he held the following positions: Commander of the Engineering Corps, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 1, Commander of Military Region 1, Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry.

At the 13th National Party Congress, he was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee and a delegate to the 15th National Assembly.

From September 2021 to present, Mr. Tran Hong Minh has held the position of Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee.
