On the morning of March 28, the 14th Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025, held the 37th Conference.
At the Conference, Central Party Committee member and Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man emphasized that the arrangement and consolidation of the province's apparatus has received high consensus from the political system and the people. The arrangement of cadres, civil servants and public employees is carried out appropriately, without causing work congestion.
The Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee said that in the coming time, he will continue to implement the policy of merging commune-level administrative units and not organizing district-level administrative units. This is a very big and important policy to meet the requirements of the new development period, bringing the country into a new era - the era of rising up, developing richly and prosperously of the Vietnamese people.
"Regarding the issue of merging commune-level administrative units, we are united in acting in the spirit of "running and lining up at the same time". Currently, the province has 108 communes, wards and towns, if the number of administrative units is reduced by at least 70%, there will be 32 communes and wards," said Mr. Man.
Mr. Man also suggested that the Provincial People's Committee develop a project to reorganize the commune level to ensure connectivity and synchronization. This project will be consulted by the people and submitted to the Provincial People's Council, then submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs for synthesis, development of a Government project, and submission to the National Assembly.
"The process and procedures are very strict and meticulous, but require urgency, synchronization, compliance with policies and regulations. Party committees, authorities, each cadre and party member must promote and uphold their role, sense of responsibility and demonstrate high determination, great efforts, and complete assigned tasks," Mr. Man suggested.
The leaders of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee also requested to grasp the ideology, propagate to create consensus among the people and resolve the regime and policies for cadres, civil servants and public employees affected.
Regarding the socio-economic situation, the report at the Conference showed that in the first 3 months of 2025, Soc Trang province achieved many positive results. The fields of agriculture, industry, trade, services, and tourism all have growth. State budget revenue also increased compared to the same period in 2024.
The Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee have also directed the summary of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee and the implementation of the work of restructuring the apparatus.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee awarded certificates of merit to the Nga Nam Town Party Committee and the Long Phu District Party Committee meeting the standards for Excellent completion of tasks in 2024.
