Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Tran Cam Tu stated: the new Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi is a leader who has received basic training, has worked in many positions at the central and local levels, has capacity and experience in Party building and state management, has a scientific, drastic, effective thinking and working methods, is close to the grassroots, has completed assigned tasks well, and achieved many important results in the assigned areas.

He emphasized that the Central Policy and Strategy Committee is an important advisory and support agency of the Party at the Central level. Timely improvement of the personnel of the Head of the Committee is very necessary to ensure regular and direct leadership of the Party Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat for important strategic areas. Comrade Tran Cam Tu suggested that Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi quickly approach the work, promote his rich practical work experiences, and work with the leadership of the Central Committee for Policy and Strategy to effectively perform the advisory function in orienting the construction and improvement of economic institutions, planning guidelines, policies, and major and important measures for socio-economic development.

Speaking at the ceremony to accept the assignment, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his gratitude to the General Secretary; thanked the Politburo and the Secretariat for trusting him in his new position; and thanked the City Party Committee and the people of Ho Chi Minh City for their attention and support during his tenure as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nghi clearly recognizes this as a great honor, but at the same time a great responsibility and promises to make the highest efforts and determination in performing the task, being receptive, listening, promoting the spirit of solidarity to work with the Central Committee for Policy and Strategy to successfully complete the assigned tasks. He also expressed his hope to receive the attention, direction, support and help of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Board's leadership as well as the effective coordination of central and local departments and ministries to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
