In which, the police force plays a core role in ensuring political security, social order and safety and together with the army force, performs the task of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
Over the past year, all types of crimes have been effectively pushed back, prevented, and stopped, especially drug-related crimes, traffic safety and order crimes, and high-tech crimes. In particular, traffic accident criteria have been reduced, and the number of people drinking alcohol while driving has been limited.
The National Assembly Chairman commended the police force for taking the lead in streamlining the apparatus to ensure it is strong, streamlined, effective and efficient. This model has been followed by other localities and ministries.
The Ministry of Public Security has also coordinated with the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Nationalities Council, and the National Assembly Committees in law-making, supervision, and decision-making on important national issues.

At the 8th Session, the National Assembly passed the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030, which is a particularly serious crime that affects young people, the future generation of the country.
In 2025, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hopes that the police force will excellently fulfill its tasks, contributing to the task of building and protecting the Fatherland and participating with the National Assembly in legislative and supervisory work.
The National Assembly Chairman also requested the police force to implement the laws passed by the National Assembly at its sessions, including stepping up propaganda work so that people understand and comply with the law.
At the meeting, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security said that recently the police force has fought to eradicate online fraud cases, especially effectively coordinating international cooperation.
The Ministry is implementing the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030. In particular, the Ministry is implementing Project 483 on drug crime prevention and control, and arranging a model for receiving people after drug rehabilitation.
The implementation of Decree 168 dated December 26, 2024 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations of traffic order and safety in the field of road traffic creates awareness among people to participate in traffic, strictly implement sanctions, and build an orderly and disciplined society.
In particular, the fines are highly effective in enforcing the law for traffic participants.
The Ministry is also implementing the Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue 2024. Accordingly, the Ministry is promoting administrative procedure reform to facilitate people. Implementation of the Law has reduced up to 30% of related administrative procedures.
Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang also affirmed that, inheriting the results of streamlining the apparatus, the police force is ready to implement streamlining from central to local levels.
