At least three people have died as a result of the earthquake, according to the Bangkok Governor.
Reuters reported that Bangkok officials are conducting a survey of buildings across the city after receiving 169 calls reporting the damage.
Although the situation has been largely controlled, authorities still warn of the risk of aftershocks. Urban rail services in Bangkok have been suspended and are expected to resume on March 29.
In addition, three major shopping malls operated by Siam Piwat Group, including Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery, have been temporarily closed.
All employees and customers have been evacuated safely. The group said it will conduct a structural inspection to ensure safety before reopening.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and advise people to be on guard against possible aftershocks in the coming time.
