On October 25, the People's Committee of Can Tho City held a Conference on personnel work, announcing the Decision of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the City on personnel work.
At the conference, the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City announced Decision No. 1999/QD-UBND dated October 22, 2025 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City on receiving and appointing Mr. Nguyen Trong Son - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Tran De Commune, to hold the position of Chief of Office of the City People's Committee. According to the decision, Mr. Nguyen Trong Son was appointed for a term of 5 years from the date of signing, the salary and allowance regime is implemented according to current regulations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trong Son expressed his deep gratitude to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee for entrusting him with the new responsibility. Mr. Son said that in the context of the city implementing a two-level local government model, the tasks of the City People's Committee Office are very heavy, requiring a high sense of responsibility, proactiveness and smooth coordination between departments.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Son affirmed that he will make every effort, promote the spirit of solidarity, learn, improve professional qualifications, and work with the City People's Committee Office to do a good job of advising and assisting the Standing Committee of the City People's Committee, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the collective of the Party Committee, government and people of Tran De commune for supporting and accompanying him throughout his time working in the locality, contributing to building a strong and effective commune Party Committee and operating the two-level local government model in the first stage of implementation.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen emphasized: the work of organizing, mobilizing and rotating cadres is a regular and important task to best promote the capacity and strengths of cadres, especially in the context of the city's recent rearrangement of administrative boundaries and reorganization of the two-level local government apparatus.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee highly appreciated the working process, sense of responsibility, ethics and leadership capacity of Comrade Nguyen Trong Son during his tenure as Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Tran De Commune. The transfer and appointment of Comrade Son to the position of Chief of the Office of the City People's Committee demonstrates the trust of the City Party Committee and the People's Committee in his management capacity, work coordination and sense of responsibility.
Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen suggested that Comrade Nguyen Trong Son quickly grasp and review work and working regulations, strengthen organization, promote solidarity in the agency; strengthen coordination between the City People's Committee Office with departments, branches, communes, wards to ensure the direction and operation of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee is smooth, timely, and effective. At the same time, promote the tradition of solidarity, pay attention to ideological work, create motivation and arouse the spirit of dedication of civil servants and public employees throughout the Office.
